May the name of the Lord be praised!

A statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Hobbs, New Mexico is allegedly miraculously crying tears that smell like roses (videos below!).

It is a miracle, nothing short of a miracle,” parishioner Paul Campos told local TV station KRQE.You can even get a sense of her presence. You can smell roses in her tears. I’ve got a tissue that I’ve taken, wiped from her mantle.

Parishioners say they first noticed the tears after the noon Mass last Sunday. Word has quickly spread and hundreds of pilgrims have already come through.

The parish priest Fr. Jose Segura said he didn’t really know what to do and so called his bishop right away.  The Archdiocese of Las Cruces will perform an investigation into the matter.

Here’s a news report on the statue:

When Three Muslim Youths ‘Offended’ The Virgin Mary, This Was Their Punishment

When Three Muslim Youths ‘Offended’ The Virgin Mary, This Was Their Punishment

A Lebanese Christian judge imposes an exemplary sentence and the whole country applauds.

The three Lebanese men were ordered to learn verses about her virginity and about the Annunciation

Three young Muslim men who were found guilty of desecrating a statue of Mary were ordered by a Lebanese judge (Who is a Christian) to memorize passages from the Quran that praise the mother of Jesus.

The defendants, who live in a mostly Christian village, were apprehended after circulating online a video of themselves desecrating the statue, news media reported.

At their sentencing on February 8, Judge Jocelyne Matta ordered the young men to memorise verses from the Al Imran chapter of the Quran, which describes the birth of Mary, Her virginity and the annunciation of Jesus’s conception by the angel Gabriel.

“Offending religious sentiments”, is a very sensitive issue in Lebanon, a country in which religious coexistence between Muslims and Christians has always been in a delicate balance.

Matta, reading her verdict at the court in Tripoli, said her decision was meant to teach the young men about Islam’s respect and love for Mary, reported the website Al Arabiya English.

And while some expected a negative reaction to this decision by the Christian judge, the exact opposite happened. In fact, many Lebanese, beginning with the country’s Prime Minister, who is a Sunni Muslim, Saad el Hariri, welcomed the decision with great respect and considered it a sign of culture, peace and coexistence.

Maronite Father Rouphael Zgheib, national director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in Lebanon, spoke about the sentence to Fides, the news agency of the Vatican Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.

“The judge realised that the boys did not know anything about the Quran despite being Muslims, and chose that kind of sentence in order to teach them to respect their own religion as well as the faiths of those who are not Muslims,” Fr Zgheib said.

Watch Video! Texas Family Emotional After They Found Out That This Marian Statue Was The Only ‘Survivor’ Of Hurricane Harvey

“I dug through everything …the only thing I found, the only thing that survived was the Virgin Mary.”

It wasn’t just wind and rain that caused damage when Hurricane Harvey blasted through the Texas coast. Fires did their share too.

A family in Robstown, just west of Corpus Christi, lost their homes to a fire just as Harvey was hitting the area. The Rojas family had evacuated their three houses on property they own instead of dealing with a category 4 hurricane. They returned to a distressing sight: all three storey Victorian style home was destroyed by fire.

“The first thing I thought is we would have died in here if we would have stayed. We left, so we’re alive and I just wish this wouldn’t have happened,” Natali Rojas said.

But they also found something in the ashes that they say gave them hope — an intact statue of the Virgin Mary.

“Some may blame God and some may blame the hurricane but the only thing standing were, you know, holy things, as you can see this statue is the only thing that survived, I dug in there for things and all I found is a Virgin Mary,” Rojas said.

“Appreciate what you have, listen to the warnings, hug your children and thank God for today and yesterday, and pray for a better tomorrow.”

Mother Mary is the universal sign for hope, she said.

“I want to thank the Fire Department of Robstown for courage to show up in the storm while the tremendous power, the wind, the rain and they were still out here trying their best it was incredible,” she said.

Their family is safe and together and their faith is even stronger than ever after seeing what survived the fire.

The family is looking to rebuild the house they lost from a fire caused by Tropical Storm Harvey.

The Weeping Marian Statue of Akita, Japan

The Weeping Marian Statue of Akita, Japan

In 1973, Sister Agnes Katsuko Sasagawa in Akita, Japan had visions of the Virgin Mary. On June 28, 1973, a cross-shaped wound appeared on the inside left hand of Sr. Agnes. It bled profusely and caused her much pain. On July 6, Sr. Agnes heard a voice coming from the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the chapel where she was praying.

The statue was carved from a single block of wood from a Katsura tree and is three feet tall. On the same day, a few of the sisters noticed drops of blood flowing from the statue’s right hand. The wound in the statue’s hand remained until September 29, when it disappeared. On September 29, the day the wound on the statue disappeared, the sisters noticed the statue had now begun to “sweat”, especially on the forehead and neck.

Two years later on January 4, 1975, the statue of the Blessed Virgin began to weep. It continued to weep at intervals for the next 6 years and eight months. It wept on 101 occasions. Scientific analysis of blood and tears from the statute provided by Professor Sagisaka of the faculty of Legal Medicine of the University of Akita confirmed that the blood, tears, and perspiration are real human tears, sweat, and blood.

They come from three blood groups: O, B, and AB. Sr. Agnes was also completely cured of total deafness. In June 1988, Cardinal Ratzinger (now Pope Benedict XVI) – head of the Office of Inquisition – judged the Akita events and messages as reliable and worthy of belief.
