Chaplet And Novena Of Friendship With The Holy Spirit

Chaplet And Novena Of Friendship With The Holy Spirit

O Holy Spirit of God! Come and lead me as You led Christ into the desert.
Come and lead me as You led the Apostles and early Christians and they were fulfilled in life.
Come and fulfill my Christian life in order to help me live my daily life with joy.
I ask this through Christ our Lord. AMEN!

Divine Spirit, be above me to bless me, may all my thoughts focus on You.
Be below me to support me, may I never grow tired of God.
Be before me to guide me, may all who meet me meet Christ.
Be behind me to protect me, may I never look back following Christ.
Be beside me to comfort me, may my faith never loose balance.
Be inside me to sustain me, may I experience the fire of your love in Heaven.
Spirit of Divine Trinity never leave me, may I always radiate the fire of your love.
Through your arm in blessing, your feet for missions and your heart for love. Kindly shine in me that God’s will be done. I earnestly ask You ……. (make your request) through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Chaplet of the Holy Spirit (note: it has 7 decades and each decade has 7 beads)

At the begining (A): In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy spirit. Amen!
On the Image of Holy Spirit:
V. Come O Holy Spirit, and fill the hearts of the faithful.
R. And enkindle in them the fire of your love.
V. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
R. And You will renew the face of the earth.

O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the gift of the same Spirit we may always be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolation through Christ our Lord. Amen!

V. Incline unto my aid O Lord!
R. O Lord make haste to help me;

(Silence and meditate to welcome the Holy Spirit of God. Conclude with: Holy Spirit, God of love, grant me a mind that knows You, a deep desire that seeks You, a wisdom that seeks You, a life that pleases You, a perseverance that finally has You).

On the first three large beads (B) say: I believe in God / Our Father / Hail Mary.

On the next small bead (C) say: Supplication to the Holy Spirit as indicated here below

Come, Holy Spirit, gentle Consoler. My soul yearns for You, my heart thirsts for You. Only You can satisfy my longing, only You can make me joyful. Divine Spirit; do not reject the dwelling of my poor heart, because;

V. My heart is impure
R. But You can cleanse it
V. My heart is darkened
R. But You can enlighten it
V. My heart is sinful and ladened with sorrow
R. But You can console it
V. My heart is weak
R. But You can strengthen it
V. My heart is chilled
R. But You can warm it
V. My heart is worldly
R. But You can fill it with heavenly desires
V. My heart is proud
R. But You can cloth it with all virtue of humility
V. My heart is inconsistent in your love
R. But You can make it persevering again
Come, then, O Holy Spirit, Father of the poor,
Come flood me with your love, AMEN!

On every first large bead (D) say: The Prayer For Gifts of The Holy Spirit

On every second large bead (E) say:
Our Father …………………… (Once)
Hail Mary ……………………..(Once)

At the seven small beads (F) say:
Glory be to the Father ….. (Seven times)

On each of the large bead say the following prayers:
1. Gift Of Wisdom: Come, Spirit of Wisdom, teach my heart to know how to appreciate and love celestial goods, and prefer them to all the goods of the earth (1Cor. 12:8)

2. Gift Of Intelligence: Come, Spirit of Intelligence, enlighten my mind to know and embrace all the mysteries and be worthy to obtain full knowledge of You, the Father and the Son. (Jn. 16:13)

3. Gift Of Counsel: Come, Spirit of Good Counsel, help me in all the matters of this unstable life, make me docile to your inspiration and lead me always on the right road to the Divine Commandments. (Jn. 14:16)

4. Gift Of Fortitude: Come, Spirit of Fortitude, fortify my heart in all perturbation and adversity and give my soul the vigor necessary to resist it’s enemies. (Zech. 4:6-7)

5. Gift Of Knowledge: Come, Spirit of Knowledge, make me see the vanity of all the worn out goods of this world so that I do not use them except for your greater glory and the salvation of my soul. (Jn. 14:26)

6. Gift Of Piety: Come, Spirit of Piety, come live in my heart and lead it to the true piety and holy love of God. (1Cor. 12:7)

7. Gift Of Fear Of God: Come, Spirit of the Fear of God, permeate my flesh with your Holy Fear in such a way that I always feel the presence of God and avoid everything that might displease the eyes of His Divine Majesty. (1Jn. 2:20)

O Holy Spirit! I offer You all the prayers of the Most Holy Virgin Mary and the Apostles together in the cenacle, I unite my prayers to theirs, begging You to renew the face of the earth, through Christ our Lord. Amen!

O God, You thought the heart of the faithful with the light of the Holy Spirit. Grant us, through the same Spirit, knowledge and love of justice, and may we always enjoy His consolation through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Then say “three Hail Mary” to Our Lady of Pentecost with the invocation: “Queen of the Apostles, pray for us,” with the litany of the Holy Spirit as indicated below.

Lord have mercy on us.
Jesus Christ have mercy on us.
Lord have mercy on us.
Jesus Christ hear us.
Jesus Christ help us.
Heavenly Father, have mercy on us.
The Son Redeemer of the world, have mercy on us.
Holy Spirit, have mercy on us.
Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us.
(Repeat after each invocation: “Have mercy on us”)
Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
Spirit of the Lord, who at the begining of creation, breathed over the waters, made them fertile.
Spirit under whose inspiration God’s saints spoke.
Spirit whose unction teaches us everything.

Spirit of truth who inspires everything.
Spirit who descended upon Mary.
Spirit of the Lord who fills all the earth.
Spirit of God who exists in us.

Spirit of Knowledge and piety.
Spirit of fear of the Lord.
Spirit of grace and mercy.
Spirit of virtue, esteem and sobriety.
Spirit of faith, hope, love and peace.

Spirit who prays for us with inexpressible pleading.
Spirit who descended upon Jesus in the form of a dove.
Spirit by whom we receive new birth.
Spirit who fills hearts with charity.
Spirit of adoption of the sons of God.
Spirit who appeared over the Disciples in the form of tongues of fire.
Spirit with which the Apostles were filled.
Spirit who gives to each one according to His will.
V: Be propitious with us O Lord!
R: Forgive us O Lord!
V: Be propitious with us O Lord!
R: Hear us O Lord!
(Repeat after each invoction: “Free us, Lord.”)
From all evil
From all sin
From temptation and despair
From resistance to the truth
From obstinacy and lack of repentance
From impurity of mind and body
From the spirit of fornication, lust and adultery
From all evil spirits
Through Your proceeding from the Father and the Son
Through the conception of Jesus Christ by means of your work
Through your descent upon the Disciples
On the great day of judgement
(Repeat after each invocation: “Hear us, Lord.”)
We, poor sinners, beseech You
So that, living by the Spirit, we may act by the Spirit
So that we may remember that we are temples of the Holy Spirit and do not profane them ourselves
So that, living according to the Spirit, we do not insist on satisfying the desires of the flesh
So that we may not sadden You, Holy Spirit of God
So that we be solicitous in preserving the unity of the Spirit, since this is the bond of peace
So that we do not easily believe in every Spirit
So that we verify if the Spirit is of God
So that You deign to renew in us rectitude of spirit
So that You confirm us in your Spirit
V: Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world,
R: Forgive us, Lord.
V: Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world,
R: Hear us, Lord.
V: Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world,
R: Have mercy on us, Lord.
V: Send down your Spirit and all things will be created
R: And You will renew the face of the earth!

We implore You, Lord, may the virtue of your Holy Spirit aid us so that by cleansing the stains on our hearts through thy mercy, we may be preserved from all harm. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen!
