Never Forget This Prayer Of St. Michael The Archangel

Never Forget This Prayer Of St. Michael The Archangel

Although it is no longer recited at the end of the Masses, as was the case in the past, prayer to St. Michael the Archangel remains a powerful aid “in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world”

After receiving a terrible vision of devilish forces about to be released on Earth in 1884, Pope Leo XIII wrote his own prayer to St. Michael, ordering it to be recited immediately after all the Masses prayed in the Latin rite. Prayer to the Archangel became part of the so-called “leonine prayers,” which were left aside by the liturgical reform of the 1960s.

In 1994, however, Pope John Paul II noted the absence of this prayer and asked that it be recited again by the faithful. It was on April 24 , at the Vatican, after the traditional prayer of the Regina Caeli :

“May prayer strengthen us for that spiritual battle which the Letter to the Ephesians says: ‘Strengthen yourselves in the Lord and in the power of his virtue’ ( Eph 6:10 ). It is to this same battle that the Book of Revelation refers, putting before our eyes the image of St. Michael the Archangel (see Rev 12, 7). Pope Leo XIII was certainly present before this scene when, at the end of the last century, he introduced a special prayer to the whole of the Church to St. Michael: “St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the fight against wickedness and traps of the devil … ‘

Although today this prayer is no longer recited at the end of the Eucharistic celebration, I invite everyone not to forget it, but to recite it for help in the battle against the forces of darkness and against the spirit of this world.”

Curiously, a decade after this prayer was no longer recited in the parishes after the Masses, Blessed Pope Paul VI recognized with regret the victories that Satan and his forces were obtained over the Church. In a homily on June 29, 1972 , he warned:

By some breach, the smoke of Satan entered the temple of God . There is doubt, uncertainty, problematic, restlessness, confrontation. There is no more trust in the Church; trust is placed in the first profane prophet who comes to us in a newspaper or in some social movement, to turn to him and ask him if he has the formula of true life. And we do not notice, instead, that we are already masters and masters [of that formula]. Doubts entered our consciousness and entered through the windows that were to be opened to light instead.

[…]

This state of uncertainty reigns in the Church. It was believed that, after the Council, there would be a sunny day for the history of the Church. Instead, there came a day of clouds, of storm, of darkness, of search, of uncertainty. We preach ecumenism, and we distance ourselves more and more from others. We try to dig up chasms instead of grounding them. How did this happen? We entrust to you our Thought: there was the intervention of an adverse power. Your name is the devil.”

The prayer to Saint Michael was composed by Pope Leo XIII on October 13, 1884, exactly 33 years before the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima. Here is the original Latin version of the prayer and its Portuguese translation:

Sancte Michael Archangele, defend us in proelio, against nequitiam et insidias diaboli this praesidium. Imperet illi Deus, supplices deprecamur: tuque, Princeps militiae caelestis, Satan aliosque spiritus malignos, qui ad perditionem animarum pervagantur in world, divine virtue, in infernum detrude. Amen.

St. Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

Heavenly Father,
I Come before you today to ask for
a financial blessing to improve my life.

My faith keeps me strong,
and I know you will provide for me
and the people I love.

I do not seek a large sum of money.
I do not trouble you for unneeded comforts
or luxury. I only ask for enough money
to relieve my financial woes and ease this stress.

Give me the means to do your work,
and spread your Love. I have so much
to give if only I were allowed the chance.

In the Name of Jesus Christ your Son, I pray.

Amen

Novena To Our Mother of Perpetual Help – Day 9

OPENING PRAYER

O Mary, Mother of Perpetual help, I salute thee with the filial devotion. I renew the consecration of myself, and all I have, to thee. I thank thee for thy maternal protection and for the many blessings that I have received through thy wondrous mercy and most powerful intercession. In all my necessities I have recourse to thee with unbounded confidence O Help of Christians, O Mother of Mercy. Obtain for me, also, dearest Mother of Perpetual Help, the grace that I may imitate thee and become more like to thee in the practice of the virtues of humility, purity, submission to the will of God, and charity. Be my protectress in life, guard and guide me in dangers, direct me in difficulties, lead me in the way of perfection, and assist me in the hour of my death, that I may come to Jesus, and with thee enjoy Him, bless Him, and love Him eternally in Heaven. AMEN.

NINTH DAY

O MARY, If — as St. Peter says — death is terrible even for the just, how much more so will it be for a sinner who has many times deserved hell, So when I think of that moment on which depends my lost for eternity, I begin exceedingly to fear and to tremble. O Mother of Perpetual Help, in thee alone is my hope, for thou are the advocate of sinners and patron of the dying I place myself from henceforth in thy blessed hands, to thee I entrust the care of my sinful soul: dispose of me, do with me as thou pleasest, but preserve me from an evil death. Reject, if thou wilt, all my other prayers, provided thou hearest this one for a good death; or may a peaceful and holy death be the crowning answer to all the prayers I address to thee henceforth to the end of my days. And When my last hour shall come, grant, O my good Mother, that I may worthily receive all the helps the Holy Church affords to the dying: And be thou pleased thyself o come then to my aid, to encourage, console and defend me from the assaults of Satan and that thy name, with that of JESUS, may be my last thought, and my last sigh, so that I may go to heaven to sing thy mercies. Come, O Lady of Perpetual Help, to help me at the hour of my death. AMEN.

This Miracle “3 Hail Mary’s Devotion” Has Never Known to Fail

This Miracle “3 Hail Mary’s Devotion” Has Never Known to Fail

THE THREE HAIL MARYS DEVOTION

One of the greatest means of salvation and one of the surest signs of predestination, is unquestionable, the devotion to the Most Blessed Virgin. All the holy doctors of the Church are unanimous in saying with St. Alphonsus of Liguori: “A devout servant of Mary shall never perish.” The chief thing is to persevere faithfully until death in this devotion.

Numerous examples show how agreeable the three Hail Marys Devotion is to the Divine Mother and what special graces it draws, during life and at the hour of death, on those who never omit it for a single day.

This practice was revealed to St. Melchtilde (13th century) while she was beseeching Our Blessed Mother to assist her in her hour of death. Our Lady appeared to her and said: “I will, certainly. But I also want you to say three special Hail Marys to me every day.

“The first Hail Mary will be in honor of God the Father, Whose omnipotence raised my soul so high above every other creature that after God I have the greatest power in heaven and on earth. In the hour of your death I will use that power of God the Father to keep any hostile power far from you.

“The second Hail Mary will be said in honor of the Son of God Who communicated His inscrutable wisdom to me. In the hour of your death I will fill your soul with the light of that wisdom so that all the darkness of ignorance and error will be dispelled.

“The third Hail Mary will be in honor of God the Holy Ghost Who filled my soul with the sweetness of His love and tenderness and mercy. In your last hour I will then change the bitterness of death into divine sweetness and delight.”

Our Blessed Mother also revealed to St. Gertrude the Great: “To any soul who faithfully prays the Three Hail Marys, I will appear at the hour of death in a splendor so extraordinary that it will fill the soul with heavenly consolation.”

St. Leonard of Port Maurice, the celebrated missionary, had the Three Hail Marys recited morning and evening in honor of Mary Immaculate, to obtain the grace of avoiding all mortal sins during the day or night; moreover he promised in a special manner eternal salvation to all those who proved constantly faithful to this practice. He gave this devotion of Three Hail Marys as a penance in the confessional, especially for those who were struggling with sins of impurity.

Practice: Recite morning and evening, three Hail Marys in honor of the three great privileges bestowed upon Our Blessed Mother by the most Blessed Trinity with this invocation at the end: for the morning: “O my Mother preserve me from mortal sin during this day.” For the evening: “O my Mother preserve me from mortal sin during this night.”

(Pope St. Pius X gave his Apostolic Blessing to this practice and the devotion was raised to an Archconfraternity by Pope Benedict XV.)

The Hail Mary: Hail Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

The greatest charity we can show our neighbors is to help them save their souls.
