50 Days With The Holy Spirit (My Greatest Friend): Day 8

“The helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name will teach you everything and make you remember all that I have told you” (John 14:26).

REFLECTION

The very methods of divine success is only with Him and those whom He leads, in the ordinary fishing which calls for many skills for fishing techniques, which include the use of hooks, nets and pounds etc. These methods of fishing are skills of high knowledge as they also deal with time.

As regards Christian life, fishing in this contest means how best to know and serve God, and to know God is to accept the Holy Spirit’s leadership and putting aside all that will take us away from getting to know the Holy Spirit.  (Heb. 12:1) The Holy Spirit teaches us more about knowing the Father in the following ways: by reading the Word of God, sharing the Word, life experiences (e.g. if one is sick and prays for healing and healing is granted him, that person lead by the Holy Spirit have come to know the Father through the illness), the Spirit uses His gifts to teach us how to fish, for each gift is a tool for the fishing of both the souls of men and the blessings from our heavenly Father.

PRAYER

Oh Spirit of Life, may you make me practical instrument for the propagation of the Gospel which is your Word and also to see You in my neighbors so that I may be able to respect your presence in man. Amen!
