50 Days With The Holy Spirit (My Greatest Friend): Day 32

BE MY COMFORTER

“And I will pray to the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever, even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him, but you know Him, for He dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you” (John 14:16-18).

REFLECTION

It has been long since I last experienced comfort from any one, I think that the very last time I enjoyed it was in my parents arms, though I sometimes felt comforted in the hands of my spouse and my friends. However, I am very much sure that I have never felt the way I feel out of your comfort, it is like being at home and so safe that you hardly care what is going on around you. Oh great Friend, I always wish to turn to you in all my troubles and difficulties for your comfort spells them away instantly and restores deep peace and joy in my soul.

PRAYER

Oh my Comforter, may You always comfort me and the afflicted. Amen!
